The Moreland West NA will meet on Thursday, March 30 at the Moreland Community Center, located at 1850 Fallbrook Ave. Come at 6:20 p.m. for social time with neighbors! Meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. (Zoom registration link below.)
We’ll share community updates and announcements, then have an opportunity to talk with our new SJ City Council representative,
Vice Mayor Rosemary Kamei, about issues of interest, including local development and plans to focus City resources on public safety, clean neighborhoods, reducing homelessness, and other priorities.
Then, staff from San Jose’s Environmental Services will present on the City’s garbage and recycling services and how to
Recycle Right. When dirty recyclables and non-recyclables are put in the recycling carts, they can contaminate clean recyclables so much that the truckload can end up in the landfill. This can reduce our overall sustainability and impact our garbage rates. Come learn what you need to do to ensure recyclables can be turned into new products. Food waste and composting will also be covered. You’re welcome to bring any items you’re unsure how to dispose.
