Open Garden at Latimer School — June 11

Tour the Latimer Garden & Outdoor Classroom
Saturday, June 11 from 9-11 a.m. //

Latimer School, our neighborhood TK-8 school, has a new outdoor educational space. Moreland West residents have contributed advice and many items, including native plants, succulents, terra cotta pots, worm compost bins, artwork, berry baskets and reusable plastic bags. Neighbor Ron B. built weather-proof housing for the outdoor classroom’s whiteboard, as well as a sturdy potting table.

Plan to enter through the school’s back parking lot gate near the intersection of Latimer Avenue and Duvall Drive. Latimer Green Team volunteers will be performing regular garden tasks and will be on hand to welcome visitors, give tours and answer questions.

See the new student-built grey water demonstration system, walk through the pinto bean tunnel, learn about this new school resource and see what’s growing!

Masking is recommended.

RSVPs to morelandwestna@gmail.com are requested.
